Pastor G. Case
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "To everything there is a season... a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted." God has graciously given us many opportunities to plant seed in the vast Denver metro area.
Our church was invited to present a Christmas play at the massive Colorado Mills Mall (yes, THEY invited US!). We performed our version of “Family Feud: Christmas Edition” (where Mary and Joseph face-off with Santa and Mrs. Claus) live, on stage, just two weeks before Christmas, in the food court, to hundreds and hundreds of hungry shoppers! We definitely provoked a polarized response among the crowds, as people witnessed Santa and his entourage overwhelming the true Christian message with greed and commercialism (well, we were performing in a MALL, after all). We’ll see if they invite us back next year…
We had a terrific turnout for our Spring Revival with Pastor Anthony Trujillo. Plenty of visitors, timely preaching, and an intense stirring of the Holy Spirit marked this revival as a fresh and powerful step forward in the direction of our church in 2011. We saw souls saved and backsliders return. Thank you Pastor Anthony, and thank you Pastor Ray Rubi and the Las Vegas, New Mexico congregation for loaning him to us!
About a month ago, someone posted a message to our YouTube site: “My brother went to the church in San Antonio, TX and loved it so much, moved back to Colorado and are making plans to visit this branch next Sunday from Longmont, CO”. Armando (the brother from Texas) has been in the area since moving here last August. While he hadn’t been to our church yet, nevertheless, his brother kept asking him questions about God. So about a week after receiving the post, we saw both families show up at a Sunday morning service! Armando’s brother (who used to consider himself an atheist), has started bringing his family to church every Sunday morning! Armando’s family just returned from a trip to Texas to bring back the rest of their belongings, and they were all in church this past Sunday morning!
We are faithfully continuing to plant the seed, as we believe God to lead us into a time of great harvest! Please pray for us as we labor to reach the West Denver Metro area!
